Tesla Motors said in a blog post on Tuesday it hired Chris Lattner to become its vice president of autopilot software.

Lattner worked for 11 years at Apple (AAPL) where he was responsible for creating the Swift software programming language for building apps on Apple platforms.

A source cited by Bloomberg said Sterling Anderson, Tesla’s director of autopilot programs, has left the company. The report noted that Tesla didn’t announce Anderson’s departure.
